Decision No. 8 of 2007 Concerning the Associations and Bodies that Engage in Activities in Violation of the Law

Based upon the powers bestowed upon me, and,

The recommendation of the Minister of Interior,

Based upon the requirements of the public interest,

Having reviewed the Amended Basic Law of 2003,

Based upon the Presidential Decree, dated June 14^th, 2007, on the Declaration of the State of Emergency, and

In reference of the Presidential Decree, dated June 20^th, 2007, concerning the Licences of Associations and Civil Society Organisations,

The Council of Ministers has decided in its third session, convening in the city of Ramallah on June 20^th, 2007, as follows:

Article 1

1. The Minister of Interior shall be assigned and authorised to immediately take appropriate measures against the associations and bodies, which engage in activities in violation of the law.

2. Implement what is required to cease the activities of such associations and bodies.

3. The Minister of Interior shall submit a report in this regard to the Council of Ministers on a weekly basis.

Article 2

All the competent authorities, each one within its sphere of jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this Decision, which shall enter into force as of the date of its promulgation and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
