Concerning the Amendment of the Civil Service Law No. 4 of 1998, as Amended

The President of the State of Palestine

The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation

In reference of the provisions of the Amended Basic Law of 2003, as amended, particularly Article 43 thereunder,

Having reviewed the provisions of the Civil Service Law No. 4 of 1998, as amended,

Based upon the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, dated December 11^th, 2018,

The powers vested in me,

In pursuance of the public interest, and

In the name of the Arab Palestinian people,

I hereby promulgate the following Law by Decree:

Article 1

Paragraph 1 of Article 87 of the Civil Service Law No. 4 of 1998, as amended, shall be amended so as to become as follows:

1. The civil servant shall be granted an unpaid leave, at their request, to accompany their spouse who travels abroad for work or study, for a period that is not less than six months, on condition that the leave does not exceed a period of four years.

Article 2

All provisions that contradict the provisions of this Law by Decree shall be repealed.

Article 3

This Law by Decree shall be presented to the Legislative Council in the first session it convenes for approval.

Article 4

All the competent authorities, each one within its sphere of jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this Law by Decree, which shall enter into force three months after the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
