Decree No. 2 of 2020

Concerning the Reestablishment of the Central Elections Commission

 

The President of the State of Palestine

The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation

In reference of the Bylaw of the Palestine Liberation Organisation,

The Amended Basic Law of 2003, as amended,

Having reviewed the Law by Decree No. 1 of 2007 Concerning the National Elections,

Having reviewed the Presidential Decree No. 4 of 2016 Concerning the Reestablishment of the Central Elections Commission,  

Based upon the powers vested in me, and 

In pursuance of the public interest,

 

I hereby promulgate the following Decree:

Article 1

The Central Elections Commission shall be re-established, as follows:

as Secretary General

as Member

Dr. Khawlah ash-Shakhshir

as Member

as Member

 

Article 2

The Commission mentioned under Article 1 of this Decree shall be responsible for managing, supervising, preparing for and organising the elections, and taking all the procedures necessary to ensure their integrity and freedom in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Article 3

All provisions that contradict the provisions of this Decree shall be repealed. 

Article 4

All the competent authorities, each one within its sphere of jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this Decree, which shall enter into force as of the date of its promulgation and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

 

Promulgated in the city of Ramallah on April 1st, 2020 Anno Domini,

Corresponding to Sha’ban 8th, 1441 Anno Hegira.
