Decree No. 35 of 2007 Concerning Military and Security Training

The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation

The President of the Palestinian National Authority

The Commander-in-Chief of the Palestinian Forces

Having reviewed the Amended Basic Law of 2003 and its Amendments,

Having reviewed the Law of Service in the Palestinian Security Forces No. 8 of 2005,

Based upon the powers bestowed upon me, and

In accomplishment of the public interest,

I hereby promulgate the following Decree:

Article 1

Military and security education and training of the personnel of the Palestinian security forces shall be regulated as follows:

1. Basic military training of all the personnel of Palestinian security forces shall be consolidated within the Training Commission in its capacity as the only commission, which is responsible for training.

2. Enrolment in staff courses and military colleges shall be based upon a decision to be issued forth by a joint committee, which brings together a representative of the Committee of Officers, Training Commission, and Palestinian Academy for Security Sciences.

3. Basic and specialised security education and training of all the personnel of Palestinian security forces shall take place at the Palestinian Academy for Security Sciences.

4. Enrolment in security specialisations abroad shall be based upon a decision to be issued forth by a joint committee, which brings together a representative of the Committee of Officers, Training Commission, and Palestinian Academy for Security Sciences.

Article 2

All the competent authorities, each one within its sphere of jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of this Decree, which shall enter into force as of the date of its promulgation and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
